How To Write Articles by Giles Vineu

There are many tools to drive visitors to your website but one of the most important ones that you should use is an article. Yes, we're talking about article marketing, and it's no surpise that the proliferation of article exchange sites has helped them become the normal method for people to obtain new material to market their sites.

Search engines place so much importance on fresh article content because the people who use their search engines demand it. It's no secret that search engines view the internet as a collection of written information just as people that use the internet consider it to be one huge database. If you're considering this from a search engine's point of view, which you should, then rewriting an article is just another way of saying make it unique.

You might be tempted to start writing articles from scratch and discard the idea of rewriting any existing articles, and if so , there are a few things you should consider first.

Dome some research on your topic. Even using the same search engine that will show your content, you can do a quick search for relevant information before you start. All you need to do is enter a few keywords into a search engine.

Every piece of written work you read should have a beginning, middle and end. This is for a good reason so try to stick to it and structure your article in the same way - in other words don't try to re-invent the wheel.

The last section to your article doesn't need to be any longer than about 4 or 5 sentences - it just needs to summarize your article. The whole article doesn't need to be any more than about 25 sentences or between four to five hundred words. Don't forget to split the article up into about four to five paragraphs for easier reading, and after you've written the article, you need to include a resource box containing your information and any links to your own websites.

As an aside, article marketing is a great way to make money online whether you're doing it for advertising or promotion for your own website or even if you're just writing articles for someone else.

Here's one of the secrets of writing successful articles. All you have to is write from your own experience, whether that's from work, recreation, hobbies or family. Imagine you're chatting with one of your friends, but just write instead of talk. Another easy way to write articles is to choose a niche topic that you're passionate about. You'll soon be known as an authority.

Remember that to become a good article writer you should use good writing techniques. Don't worry of you don't have these yet, when you get into the swing of article writing you'll soon pick them up. And the more you write the more you'll improve, so try to write on a daily basis. We all know that practice makes perfect and this is the same with writing.

Get More Backlinks - The Easy Way by Giles Vineu

I want to let you into a little secret - it is possible, and even easy, to get an unlimited amount of high quality backlinks to your site, for free. The only cost will be your time, and to be honest, not much of that. I'm talking about the recently launched site called Qassia, and how you can get in, even though their doors are closed to the public.

First let me explain why this is something you should take notice of. Qassia is a sort of directory, to which you can add your own website, but that's only the first step and a tiny part of what this is about.

Once you've added your own site to the system, you can then submit what's called 'intel' which is short for intelligence. You can add any kind of intelligence you want, whether it's a unique article written by you, something already published on your blog, or, and this is the killer feature, even information published by someone else.

Yep, you read that right. You can submit any information, so long as it's legally redistributable, and a page will be created on Qassia for it, and that page will contain backlinks to your website. How cool is that? Not only do you get backlinks, you also collect credits (known as Qassia dollars) for any intel you submit. The more dollars you collect, the better placed your intel will be. It's a clever system. The links back to your website are 'followed' so they count for page rank and you can have as many pages of intel as you like.

There are some guidelines in place to prevent people falsely claiming articles are theirs, but to be honest there's no need to pretend it's anyones but the original author. What you're after are the backlinks, not the credit for the article, and you get those whoever the original author is.

The potential for this is huge because you can submit just about anything to the site, and once it's approved you get a page with a backlink to your website. It doesn't matter what the information is about either. In fact they actively encourage mundane information! Your family recipe for shortbread? What happened when you took your dog to the vet? What did you think to that new MP3 player you just bought last week? Have some thoughts on what's happening in the news? What's happening in your city, town or village?

Qassia is completely free to use and doesn't require that you link back to them in any way, although if you do link to them from your site you receive extra credits.

Ok, so where's the catch? As I write this, Qassia is by invitation only, which means you can't just go to the site and sign up. But... as you've taken the time to read this far, and as you're genuinely interested in building backlinks to your site, you get a personal invitation from me. Just visit my page at http://gilesvineu.qassia.com/ and you'll see a sign up form. No strings, no catch, nothing except a sign up form to register with Qassia.

So in summary, if you have a website and you'd like backlinks;

1. Join Qassia
2. Add your website to your account.
3. Submit intel.
4. Get a backlink.
5. Submit intel and get backlinks again, as many times as you'd like.

You've Got a Great Idea for a Web Site, but How can you Make It Succeed? by Charles J. Bonner

Most Web sites and blogs begin with a great idea, but never get off the ground. How do you know whether your great idea can be translated into a great Web site? You must do a little research to make sure you're choosing the right path. This article will show you how begin to develop that great idea into a great, successful Web site.

Your definition of success with your Web site depends on the purpose of your Web site. But whether the purpose is to support an off-line business, to sell your products on-line, to generate passive income from affiliate programs or other advertising, or simply to share your interest in a hobby or profession, your Web site will need appropriate traffic. And in order to draw traffic, you must first think very carefully about what need your Web site addresses. Who will visit your Web site, and why will they choose your Web site out of all the millions of Web sites out there?

You need to define the market or audience you want to address, and you need to assess whether that market is already being addressed.

Assessing the market for your Web site idea is something of a Goldilocks decision:

* Some markets are too small

* Some markets are too big

* Some markets are just right

Obviously, you want that "just right" market, but how do you identify it?

Keyword Research

The main tool is keyword research. Keyword research will tell you two crucial things about the wide world of the Web:

1. What are people looking for?

2. What are people finding?

You need to discover what people are looking for on the Internet that is relevant to your great idea. Sure, you think it's a great idea, but does anybody else? Is there a need for it? Is anybody really looking for whatever it is you intend to offer? Good keyword research can tell you what they're looking for, and what specific terms they are using in their searching.

Once you know what Web surfers are looking for, you need to know what they are finding. The point here is that you need to know how much competition you will be facing.

There are two main things you can do when faced with competition:

1. Out-market the competition.

2. Avoid the competition by choosing a different market (or, preferably, a specialized slice of the market).

Keyword research won't help you much on that first option. Competing in a saturated market will require money, time, and luck. Lots and lots of all three. (Good luck.)

Most of us are richer in great ideas than in greenbacks, so the second option is the only way to go.

Keyword research will help you with this, too. And it will identify both the market and the competition in one operation.

Specialize to Avoid Competition

Let's take a particular example. Suppose you are an expert on tuataras.

(Don't know what a tuatara is? It doesn't matter. It's just an example of a subject somebody might be interested in. I intentionally chose a term with ridiculously low search engine value, so that this article will not "hijack" too much traffic. Apologies to all those seeking information about tuataras. (a) No, I didn't make it up, and (b) if you actually are interested in creating a Web site about tuataras, here's a little free keyword research.)

Preliminary keyword research indicates that there are about 150 searches per month for terms that include the word "tuatara." (That's not good, but let's go with this example.) Further research shows that there are well over 400,000 Web pages out there that have something to do with tuataras. This means that the keyword "tuatara" by itself is not of much value. There is some interest in it on the part of Web surfers, but that interest is being adequately met by nearly half a million Web pages. The "keyword effectiveness index" (KEI *) for the word "tuatara" is an abysmal 0.03 (as of the date of this writing).

(* Side note. "KEI," a numerical value based on popularity and competitiveness of a search term, is the subject of many articles all by itself. Virtually all keyword research tools will report the KEI of each term.)

But what's that on the list? The term "diagram of tuatara" was searched 18 times this month, and there is only one page on the entire Web that matches. This term has a KEI of 169 (as of the date of this writing) which is very good, and by far the highest KEI of any term having to do with tuataras.

So, this can be your specialty. If you can build the greatest Web site in the world relating to diagrams of tuataras, you can compete with that other Web page for all 18 of those users. You can study the competing pages (or page) to make sure that you have the very best tuatara diagram page out there, and that you keep it that way.

I hope you get the idea: Use keyword research to determine whether there really is an interest out there for the Web site you envision, and use it to identify specialized areas of interest that are not overly competitive. And for most areas of interest, you will find more than one search term with a KEI of greater than 100 that you can use to choose your specialty.

When you Must Generalize

But what if you were the poor unfortunate whose passion and expertise really are in a subject like tuataras, for which there is effectively no interest on the Web? You're not going to generate enough revenue to pay your domain hosting fees from 18 visitors per month.

In effect, a situation like this is telling you that your original great idea wasn't so great. But rather than just give up, you can continue your research to find related ideas that might work better.

What you need to do is to generalize a bit. Instead of tuataras, do a little keyword research on "reptiles." (Yes, a tuatara is a reptile.) Here you may find that there is plenty of interest, relevant search terms that are used many thousands of times each month, and you can narrow in again on specialties that are less competitive. Maybe you will find high KEI on search terms related to captive breeding of endangered reptiles, and you can build your Web site around that.

It's not exactly the great idea you started with, but it's close enough to keep your enthusiasm going, and there is a market that you can serve.

Next Steps

Now, take a deep breath, and consider carefully all the powerful things you can do with the results of your keyword research. This will set the direction for how your original great idea for a Web site will become a genuinely successful Web site. This keyword research will give you:

* Ideas for an effective domain name.

* Ideas for effective titles for your Web pages.

* Ideas for effective descriptions of your Web pages.

* Ideas for content of your Web pages, to help you focus your expertise onto the particular specialty you have identified.

* Ideas for articles you can write and publish to help drive traffic to your Web site.

* Keywords you can use in a "Pay Per Click" (PPC) campaign.

Look what happened! Your original great idea has become a whole flock of ideas, just waiting for you to act on them.

All of those things are the subjects of other articles.

The important thing to remember from this article is this: Before you act on your great idea for a Web site, do some research to determine whether other people will think it's a great idea, and refine your idea into something that you can turn into a successful Web site.

The Number One Reason Why Most Websites Never Make Any Money! by Prince Avery

A lot of people have a big misconception when they hear it said that "it's easy to make money on the internet". It gives the wrong impression of ease so webmasters don't put forth the proper effort to make any real money with their websites. They think that it just means to get you a website, sell something, and watch the profits start rolling in. Well, the fact of the matter is that making money on the internet is easy, just not the kind of easy you're thinking about.

Internet marketing and other ways of making money online are defined as easy because compared to the huge task of starting your own real world brick and mortar business, running a website is a real breeze. You don't have to worry about inventory, staffing, or rent. The barrier to entry for owning a physical business is a lot higher than the $20/mo hosting fees and the $1.99/year domain registration. Another thing is that when you factor in the advertising cost difference between sending a hundred thousand direct mail pieces to real houses as opposed to emails, the simplicity and ease of the internet is clearly demonstrated. I mean, that's a few thousand envelopes to be sent out each with a printed brochure or other sales presentation. Not to knock on direct mail marketers, I still cannot see the advantages of one of those over an email address list that can instantly be reached for free.

Now so far we agree, that starting an online business is easy, but here is the catch. Starting an online venture is very easy compared to other businesses you could start, but NO business is easy to start. That's right, that's where a lot of people fail, when they decide not to treat their online business like a real business and just buy into the HYPE sold by many internet marketing gurus who make money selling people the false hope of easy money.

An internet Business requires real work and dedication and, just like a real world business, takes some time before making serious money. All those "make money in 24 hours" guides should warrant a raise of the eyebrow, but not the urge to buy, because its plain unpractical.

It takes a lot more than just setting up a website to make a living online or anything even close to that. That is the Number one mistake made by webmasters, just thinking the internet will do all the marketing for them. There are many more mistakes that the average website owner makes that leave his business penniless and without any visitors and most of these are simple ones too that would only take a few minutes to fix.

The main one in my opinion though, is the misconception that an online business doesn't warrant the time and dedication that any other business would, just because it is assumed to be easy.

How Long For Google Indexing With Link From PR5 Site? by Martin Kespre

Besides the fact that noone can predict when a site will be spidered or indexed, you have to ask if your link on the PR5 site is able to be indexed?

Check and make sure that something wasn't done that prevents the link from being indexed.

Here are a few things to look for:

1. a straight href link info

This is the preferred way to have a link, there are others, but this is the most common. Javascript or hidden links can't be spidered.

I set up a link exchange with a site recently. As always I check my links here and there, but the link exchange wasn't showing up to my benefit. So I went to the page where my link appeared and started hecking things out.

After the original exchange (which was done with a standard link), the owner of the other site changed it to a link (commonly referred to as a hidden or dynamic link) which is not indexable. So I removed their link.

2. Does the page your link is on have a robots meta tag that says "noindex" or "nofollow?"

If it does this is bad. The first one prevents the page from being spidered, the second one may prevent your link from being picked up for future indexing on that site.

3. Does the site exclude the page from indexing with the robots.txt or .htaccess files? (This can be harder to figure out).

One easy way is to check and see if the other links on that page are showing as backlinks to that site.

You can also check with the SE's and see if your link is showing as a backlink. Obviously Google isn't, but what about Altavista, Alltheweb, and others? If the link is showing as a backlink there, it will eventually with Google, you just have to give it time.

Ad Placement For AdSense by Martin Kespre

Google's Heatmap as given in the link above is a great general guideline for sites with conventional layout - but it is certainly not the ONLY successful strategy. The size of the ads as tested via tracking scripts show that the square/rectangular ads generally outperform banners and skyscrapers.

It's always advisable that your ads (If in fact you want them to be clicked) are what is commonly referred to as "above the fold" meaning the ads are viewable on screen when a visitor first hits your site. Above the fold will differ based on screen size and resolution. Remember the killer big hi res screen you are working on may not show the same area as the 14" notebook screen your visitor may be using.

There is "banner blindness" associated with many of the banner and skyscraper formats.

And yes there is some school of thought that says to "blend" your ads with your text, in this way they appear to be part of the content to many users. While this tactic is bit deceptive in practice it is not currently in voilation of Adsense TOS. It does work... but it is not the only method that works.

Script testing will show that people prefer blue and navy links - it's not reinventing the wheel that you are after - it's clicks. People know BLUE means "link".

I myself do very well on some sites with unconventional colors. I have found grey/silver on black to be very effective for me even on sites where it is totally out of sync with the color scheme of the site. It's an authoritative look - it means business - it means this is serious.

Unfortunately the above are only guidelines. I have many sites and many themes and many niches with which to test. Your best bet is to follow the basic general Google Heatmap guidelines, purchase a good tracking script and begin to test your own site. Find out what works for you.

I have a site that has a double figure click through rate using a 234 pixel banner ad!

The better you get at leading your visitor to the ad either visually or textually... and making sure the ads are truly targeted to the content of your page the more successful you will become.

There is no need to purchase this information as the people selling it are no more authoritative than any other seasoned adsense user - the key again is to test.

Webmasters! Make Money with Your Website! It's Easy! by William J. Lund

If you have a website, and some traffic, you can be earning money with it! It's very easy to ad advertising to your website and make money online. When done correctly it can even ad value to your site. Adsense is the most well known, but there are a large number of ad programs out there. When you sign up as a publisher to display Google's Adsense ads on your site, Google spiders your site to find out what each page that you are going to place an ad on is about. Google then displays ads that relate to your site in some way. This is called targeting and it's what makes the Adsense program work.

As a publisher you can choose what sizes of ads you want and where to put them on your page. You have a number of options like whether to allow image ads as well as text ads, and what sites you do not want ads from appearing on your page. You get to choose the color schemes and formats to make the ads match the style of your website and web pages. There are quite a few options for you to choose from to both customize the ads to your site and to determine what types of ads and services you want. You can even put a Google search box on your site and earn money from that too.

Another form of advertising you as a publisher can put on your site is similar to the old banner ads, but it is contextual. The ads are still banners, but they match the products being advertised to the content of your web page. These programs pay by ad impressions instead of click-throughs. This is referred to as CPM or cost-per-thousand. Fifty cents per 1,000 ad impressions is a fairly typical amount paid to publishers for these ads.

Most ad programs limit the number of ads you can place on a page. The CPM ads I use require any ads to be "above the fold" (Visible when the page loads without having to scroll down). That's reasonable since you are being paid in effect for page views, so the advertiser wants to be sure that his ad is actually seen by someone. You could click away without scrolling down and thus the advertiser would have to pay for an impression that did not occur. I can get 2 ads above the fold, so I make $1.00 for each 1,000 page views.

Whether to use the CPM ads depends upon the amount of money the average page view produces. Some of my sites earn very little from Adsense because the topic of the page is not as valuable to advertisers as others. If my site is making me $5.00 per 1,000 page views with Adsense, then I won't be putting the CPM ads up, since I only make $1 per 1,000 page views. If the site is making less than $1.00 per 1,000 page views with Adsense, then it's worth putting the CPM ads up, with Adsense below the fold.

Adsense doesn't have an above the fold requirement so I place Adsense ads below my CPM ads. That way I get paid for every visitor, without them having to click anything, and then there is still a chance they will click on an Adsense ad and make me even more money.

Another way to make money from every visitor without the visitor having to click anything is using the new 5 second audio ads from NetAudioAds. When a visitor lands on your website a 5 second long audio ad plays. Once the ad has played, the visitor will not hear another ad for at least 3 minutes. If after three minutes has elapsed, the visitor clicks to another of you pages, he could then hear another ad, or if he refreshes the original page he would hear a second ad. Only one ad per 3 minute period is ever played to any one listener.

Not only do you get paid for every visitor even if they don't click anything, they never leave your site. With pay-per-click your visitor is gone, but not with 5 second audio ads. Another neat thing about he audio ad program is it has a referral program that goes down two levels. If you refer a publisher to the program, you get money when ads play on the referrals website. If your referral refers another publisher then you make money from those ads as well. It stops at that point, but by referring lots of new publishers your earnings can really skyrocket.

The audio ads do not interfere with Adsense or CPM ad programs, and they don't take up any room on your page either!

Yet another way to make money online with your website is through affiliate programs. If you become an affiliate, and direct visitors to an advertiser's website, and the visitor makes a purchase, you get a commission. That's pretty much how affiliate programs work.

So mix and match your advertising for maximum earnings and go take a cruise ship vacation or something.

Four Key Steps to a Successful Web Site by Charles J. Bonner

Most Web sites and blogs follow a haphazard development path that begins with enthusiasm and ends in oblivion. No matter what the purpose of your Web site or blog, there are four things you must do in order to succeed. Keep that original enthusiasm alive by thinking it through and laying out the full plan before you start down the wrong path. This article will show you the four main steps you must follow before you put up your virtual shingle, and that you must continue following in an ever-improving cycle that will bring you the success your enthusiasm deserves.

There are four main steps you must take in order to build a successful Web site:

1. Select your target market or audience

2. Create your site

3. Monetize your site

4. Promote your site

Depending on the purpose of your Web site - whether to support an off-line business, to sell your products on-line, to generate passive income from affiliate programs or other advertising, or simply to share your interest in a hobby or profession - your definition of "success" can include many different things. However, there is one thing that any Web site or blog must have in order to be "successful," and that is traffic. Therefore, you must do all four key steps with a view to generating appropriate traffic.

So let's look into each of these four steps in more detail. What do I mean by each of them, and what should you do at each step? Along the way, I'll also get into more detail about what I mean by appropriate traffic.

Also bear in mind that this is a continually repeating process. On the Web, you never reach a point where you just sit back and leave your Web site to stand on its own. You must constantly review and adjust your appeal to your target market, the Web site content you are creating, how your site is monetized, and how you promote your site.

Selecting your Market

The first thing to think about is, who in the vast world of the Internet are you addressing? To define the audience you want to reach, begin with your own interests and passions. But it's not enough to be interested, passionate, and knowledgeable about a subject. If you are to have a successful Web site, you must determine whether enough other people are also interested, and whether their needs are being adequately addressed. You will probably have to define a specialized niche within the broader market.

The best way to do all that is by conducting good keyword research. Suppose, for example, you are an expert on caring for babies. A little keyword research will reveal that although there are dozens of searches on the Web each day for the term "baby care," there are over fourteen million Web sites matching that term. Why would a typical Web surfer pick your site from among those fourteen million others? Further keyword research will show you that there are about a dozen searches each day for the term "polypropylene baby bottle care tips," and only one site on the Web addressing this term. You have identified a specialty that is perhaps not being addressed adequately.

(Incidentally, those are actual numbers from cursory keyword research I did while writing this article. They will change with time, of course. My past experience suggests that this article will soon begin appearing to match the specialized term I used as an example, even though this article is not really about that subject.)

Now, maybe you're not passionate enough about the subject to start building a Web site devoted to the care of polypropylene baby bottles, but you get the idea. From within the broadest definition of your interests, find a specialty:

* A specialty that keyword research reveals to be of general interest

* A specialty that is not a saturated market

* A specialty that you want to address

Creating your Site

Once you have carefully researched your audience, you can begin creating your Web site or blog. There are many detailed steps within this larger step, and many variations along the way, but here are the main ones to consider:

1. Choose an effective name for your site.

2. Create rich Web site content.

A successful Web site must have a name (domain name) that is memorable and clearly related to the subject matter of the site.

You have a disadvantage when it comes to choosing relevant terms. You're the expert on the subject, which means that you do not view the subject the same way as the non-expert who is looking for information. What terms do they consider relevant?

Keyword research is again your best tool. Look at what people are searching for when they end up finding Web sites like the one you are building. Then choose your domain name accordingly. To continue the previous example, you might think "infant care," while most people are searching for "baby care."

Create your Web site name from relevant, commonly-used search terms (keywords), and you'll draw in the traffic.

This gets us into the notion of "appropriate" traffic that I mentioned earlier. Your keyword research might suggest that "polypropylenebabybottlecaretipscom" will bring in lots of traffic, but if your Web site is about the merits of breast feeding, you will bring in visitors who are not interested in your subject matter. This causes two huge problems:

1. You will not get the visitors you really want

2. You will antagonize the visitors who do come to your site.

Some of the same ideas apply to the content of your Web site. I suggest that you simply write the Web site content that you think people are interested in, writing in the terms that come naturally to you, then optimize its use of keywords after you've written it.

Monetizing your Site

Strange as it may seem, you usually must first publish your Web site before you can monetize it. Most of the better affiliate programs and advertising networks (such as Google Adsense) will want an opportunity to look at your Web site before they approve you as a member of their program.

If you plan to monetize by selling your own products, you have a great many details to consider, which are beyond the scope of this article. Among other things, you need to work out how you will process payments and how you will route orders for fulfillment. For our immediate purposes, the main consideration is that you need to write the content of your sales pages using effective marketing and sales language.

If you plan to monetize only by displaying contextual advertisements, there's not much to it. Find an effective, reputable carrier (search for "contextual advertising"), understand their rules and requirements regarding the placement of their ads on your pages, and place the ads!

In between those two methods is advertising via affiliate programs. If you plan to make money with affiliate links, you must include some mention of the products you are recommending, but it can be less "salesy" and more informative.

There is an important implication in that last paragraph about affiliate programs: You have to change your Web site content in order to make proper use of the affiliate links. And as you change your Web site content, you should review it to make sure it is still using effective keywords.

Promoting your Site

There are worlds within worlds of information about how to promote your site. For our purposes, the main thing to keep in mind is that you need to think about how you will promote your Web site in conjunction with how you do the rest of these steps.

Remember who your target audience or market is, and promote your site in a way that will reach that same target audience. Among other things, this means that your promotion plans must be based on the same keyword research that you used to build your Web site content. For instance, if you are using article marketing, which is perhaps the most cost effective way to promote your site, the articles must use the same keywords as you used in your Web site's content. Likewise, if you are using a pay-per-click (PPC) campaign, you must base your search engine advertisements on keywords that are also used in your Web site content, so that once a visitor clicks on your ad, they will stay on your site because it is exactly what they were looking for.

The Cycle

Once you have done all four of these steps, go back and do them again, continually:

* No, you don't need to select your target audience all over again, but you do need to repeat that keyword research from time to time. Are you still offering what people are looking for? Is there another specialty emerging which you can address?

* No, you don't need to create your site all over again, but you do need to update your site's content all the time. Stagnation is death. Fresh content keeps you at the top of the search engine result lists, and keeps the traffic coming.

* You don't necessarily want to repeat the whole process of monetizing your Web site, but you should review your programs from time to time. Add new affiliate or contextual advertising programs (but be careful to avoid displaying competitive ads that one or another of your programs may disallow). Discontinue any affiliate or contextual advertising programs that aren't working for you.

* Above all, you need to repeat your promotional efforts all the time. Once you get past your original roll-out, create a schedule for yourself such that you launch a new campaign on a regular basis. Just as with content, stagnation is death.

Conclusion

Perhaps you noticed the recurring theme in most of these four steps: Keyword research. You must be in touch with what the Web community is looking for in order to provide a Web site that meets their needs, and in order to let them know that it is what they're looking for.

Create your Web site name and its content using the right keywords, and you will have a door. Promote your site using those same keywords, and the appropriate users will beat a path to your door.

But the Web is a dynamic place. The hot keywords of today will be old and tired tomorrow. In order to have continued success with your Web site, you must continually repeat the process of identifying your market, maintaining fresh content, monetizing your site, and promoting your site.

Why doesn't your website make any money? by Prince Avery

If you are actually expanding energy to build, run and do I dare say pay for a website, you should be at least getting your money out. Seriously, a lot of webmasters fail to look at their websites as businesses and just let all their traffic go to waste. I used to know this girl that had a blog about her family that had received over a million hits! She did this simply by putting pictures of her family gatherings or just random stuff about her. But when I knew her, she was broke! Why?

All that traffic to her website for absolutely free because she never spent a dime on advertising, and she never made a penny on the website. I mean it was obvious to me the simple things she wasn’t doing. She was latterly throwing tens of thousands of dollars down the drain. And I see many webmasters doing this. Don’t do that. Seriously! I know you could use some money. Here are some simple ways to monetize your website:

Get a Google adsense account, and just plug the code on your website. This is if you don’t really want to do too much work, just copy the code and insert it in your webpage. They pay you each time someone clicks on the ad. The amount of money you get depends on how much the keywords on your website are worth and what the advertiser is spending on the ads. Adsense is not something you can expect to make a great deal from, but its not wise to leave loose ends. Make sure that every place a customer clicks on your site is to your benefit in some way.

A more involved way of making money on your website is to advertise affiliate products for a commission. Clickbank.com is a good source for digital products; commission junction at cj.com is the best source for more tangible products. There are a lot of affiliate programs available online, but I only use these two unless if I find something interesting that people will buy on my website.

Most affiliate programs are free to join. The best way to monetize in my opinion through affiliate programs is to write reviews about the programs and get interest in them on your website. Jus putting ads on your website I notice is kind of ineffective for some affiliate programs, especially clickbank. It’s far more successful to upsell the product to customers thus improving your click through and conversion rates.

There are pay-per-play ads available online that pay you per impression. The pay rates are kind of low, but that’s a good way of making consistent money if you get a lot of traffic to your website. I don’t usually go to those but you can do a search on Google and you will see many available.

The best way of making consistent money with your website traffic is to build up a list of interested visitors by capturing their email addresses. There are a few ways of doing this, but the best in my opinion is to offer a free product or newsletter. Then you can have a list of interested subscribers ready to bite at whatever you offer. Just don’t abuse your members and spam as many will remove themselves from your list. It takes a bit longer to get a list going than to start advertising affiliate products. But the advantage to lists is that it takes on average about 7 return visits before a sale is made. The list allows you to keep in contact with visitors.

You can also make money through selling email advertising to other websites. I would be more careful with this approach as too many ads will sure cost you some subscribers. The list is endless on how this is beneficial for your website. I just hate to see good traffic go un-mined.

Create your Free Online Business Now! by Prince Avery

I know it’s tough to get started in the internet marketing business. It’s a different kind of environment with click through ratios, pay-per-click, and other ways of looking at the world. In the real world, things happen slowly. People actually have to drive from one store to another. People have to reach in their pockets for wallets or in their purses. Customers have to actually walk around your shop, call price checks, and stand in line at the register. What a waste!

On the internet, where the real hustlers do their bidding, we don’t have time for playing around. We get straight to the point and we usually have less than 5 seconds to catch someone’s attention before they click away from our website with their “Paypal dollars” tightly clutched in their hand. But that’s the great thing about the internet. In about 2 hours you can have a business set up for completely free. All you have to do is be willing to put in a little time and effort.

Real stores are expensive, they cost to build and maintain. If not, you’re paying rent and having to hire employees anyway. There are all kinds of regulations on what you can and can’t do. You’re endlessly limited by physical constraints and your liability is greater than online ventures. I have about 10 Blogs (businesses) running on the internet right now and I do not pay a single penny for web space. Oh yea, and I’m also able to do whatever I want on my blog. Check out blogger.com and wordpress.com to get a free one. You can even have as many as you want on the same account. Just pick a decent neutral template for this project though; wild colors do not stimulate wallets if you catch my drift. Just help you look like an amateur or hobbyist, not a business.

Here is the way you can set up an online business and see for yourself how quickly you can begin earning a serious income online for free.

Now, I won’t go over how to pick a topic in detail for your website right here, but just go with something you know enough to talk about. Something you’re knowledgeable on and can form a respectable opinion about. Do some reading online about the topic and learn the style of the highest rated articles about the topic. Learn more about this on my website.

Create a blog about your topic and populate it with a few articles you picked up and liked online. Your next move is then to write your own articles about the topic. To show you how this works, just write two 500 word articles about the topic. Make sure to have a headline that engages readers and makes them want to continue to your article.

Submit these articles to ezinearticles.com, goarticles.com, amazines.com, and articlesbase.com. Once you have completed that and are awaiting approval, just post the articles on your blog. Get a stumble upon account, and post your articles as Blogs that links back to your website. Stumble your blog by clicking the “I like it” tab and writing a review about it.

Here is how you’re going to motivate yourself after this. get a free hit counter that only counts unique visitors to your blog. Do a search on Google for a free web counter and copy the code to your website. You will begin to notice a few hits every day on your website from people that are looking to learn more from you. This can be your motivation to keep writing, just so you don’t waste all the attention.

A step further is to get an autoresponder, offer something for free on your website in exchange for subscriptions, and see how many email addresses you begin to receive from these two articles. You can then go on to write more, submit them to more websites, and see your blog grow into a real business.

You have to first get going on the articles though, this took me the longest to get right, but once you do start writing, you’ll never go back!

How To Succeed At Article Marketing by Steve Hill

I have introduced many people to the concept of article marketing and have been intrigued to watch how they develop within this area of website promotion. Strangely enough the majority of them end up failing and in this particular article I will explain why. I have been writing articles for the last three years and I have thus far had eight hundred and seventeen articles published on what I consider to be the best article marketing directory, ezinearticles. Looking back I could not believe just how beneficial this type of web promotion could be, the results in the first year were quite spectacular. The traffic to my websites started to surge and the phone seemingly did not stop ringing. Other people had similar positive experiences but then some of them let the cat out of the bag by telling the rest of the world! Article marketing then became swamped with a load of spam and trash. Many so called experts stated that article marketing had had its day and many believed them. This actually helped as it meant that not so many people were writing articles. The article marketing directories had to sharpen up their act and the cream of sites such as ezinearticles and articledashboard rose to the top of the tree. In my opinion those heady days of a few years ago have gone forever. I have to write eight articles to gain the same affect that just one article would have had a couple of years ago. This is the main reason why the people I have introduced to this form of website promotion ultimately have not succeeded, they lack the patience. Yes it is not as beneficial as it once was but it is still a free way of attracting those all important backward links.

My Internet Marketing Career by Prince Avery

I started My Internet marketing career at the tender age of 14, when my parents bought our first computer. Was a decent hp machine and we had dial-up Internet. My motivation for deciding to make money online, beside the fact that I wanted money, was that I wanted money! There weren't too many alternatives either for a 14 year old trying to make money, I mean; you couldn't even get a job until you were 16 years old. Mowing lawns wasn't my thing either; I'm not too big on the physical labor.

It was a complete failure. I started with inbox dollar programs that pay you for reading emails. I could also get paid for surfing websites. I'm sure you're familiar with those. They suck. I heard of some people making some decent money with those programs, but I just don't see how. It was way too tedious for my liking, especially when using dial-up and it takes the average page almost a minute to load. I was never able to amass enough credits to get any checks sent out. I might have not been persistent enough, but the results just discouraged me from that route. I decided I needed a website. I didn't have any money, but I could get a free one, so I went on to make a website!

This is where my age and experience I think failed me. I was just stomped on what to put on my page. Not that I didn't have any topics of interest, but I just didn't have anything to say. Thinking back on it now I probably did have a lot to say, but maybe wasn't sure of myself, who knows! I decided to get one of those free malls and start advertising it hoping to sell products. The sad part is i knew about nothing on marketing, and back in those days, all you were reading about it was to put banner ads, pay for ads (impossible in my case), link exchanges, MLM programs and such. I even printed my own business cards about it then (not the real ones, just got construction paper and cut them out". How stupid it must have been, because it was all to no avail. I also can’t really say I put much effort in it, or even could have. When you have to fight for time on the only computer in the family, it’s kind of hard to get any consistent work done.

I did the thing where you surf on someone else’s website and you get visitors to yours, but then you know the traffic is bullshit, because the websites you look at you don't even give a second glance. Why would you expect other people participating in the program to give your site a second glance? I guess it was a matter of trying anything i could just to see some kind of response on the net.

My biggest mistake during that period, and one that still haunts me today is the idea that "I" would be rejected or better put, uninteresting on the net. Why did someone want to read what i had to say? What did I have to say? I'm just some snot-nosed kid who had barely just opened his eyes to the world!

Because of that, I injected a lot of “fakeness” and wanted the professional (at least I thought) look and feel, even though there was nothing professional about what i was doing. I was just an Internet copycat for a while and it got me nowhere, especially when you suck at copycatting, and are trying to duplicate the work of people who have far more experience and resources to carry out their intentions. It took me a lot of just time-wasting daydreaming about wealth, and pure failure, before I began to realize what it really took to make some money online, and then i encountered my greatest hurdle to overcome. I was too young!

Or at least that’s what I was thinking at the time. Was I so wrong....?

Viral Traffic Increasing With Video by The Davinator

The onset of traditional marketing is gone. Applying viral traffic to multiply the legion of visitors to a site is upwardly enjoying more favor. The game is always on the move, and striving to be different to set yourself apart to possible visitors is becoming more complex. The web population is no longer impressed by marketing smoke and lights and gadgets.

It's definitely the time to start using video in your niche empire! Added sites for video volume are showing up day after day on the Internet.

People always wanting to defeat each other in coming up with enticing, clever videos that will influence an audience who will pass their creative video content along. Your career will bring desired results in a number of implementations with viral marketing. Whereas there is always companies with mighty performance budgets, you don't always be needing a wealth of money or equipment to go viral. That implies that even limited operations can reap the benefits of this. You can do a lot with just a web cam. It is feasible to have the equal influence with a home video as the larger players do with their overly abundant budgets and huge video gear.

Of course , there is an acquired profession to creating videos. Even small budget videos can result in a huge amount of time to get the best results possible. There happens to be people who choose to establish an accurate script. Others desire improvisation and casualness. It really depends on the person creating the video.

Whichever ways you might look at it, viral videos are getting huge in ingeniousness and acclaim, thus implying success for the people who are working with them. This shouldn't continue to be ignored much longer, this is crucial business. If your purpose is to be a major competitor in the future, your best solution will be to get into it now, before it completely spirals out of control.

It certainly will be time consuming to have your videos entered and placed over a wide assortment of the viewing public. If you don't have a network of distributors, you will definitely find it hard to get your videos noticed. There are numerous free services you can try out for your own use. Nonetheless, and this is important, you supposedly will not be nearly as successful as you would if you used a hired service. The most highly reputable video distribution channel for an online marketer is a company known as Traffic Geysor. If you seriously want to have people view your videos, these are definitely the people to work with. You will be completely blown away at the total amount of time you save.

One of the most cutting-edge methods of getting your your message to the world, in my opinion, is through viral marketing. You should see noticeable results if you put a very guided effort into your viral marketing strategies for your sites and services.

As with obtaining the proper training in any new skill, having success producing viral videos will take time and practice. The more you work at it, the greater your results will be. Some of your attempts will be greatly successful, others won't. But without a doubt, you need to establish viral avenues as a marketing technique!

The New Breakthrough "Forced Money" System Has Just Been Released! by Michael Moyssidis

There's a "new" kind of website these days - one that "FORCES" money into your pocket!

The days are now over where you were left with just "chance" on your side when it came to making money on the Internet.

A brand new "technology" has been developed that makes websites pay you by "force!"

Short of putting a gun to people's heads and making them take their money out of their wallets and pay you without choice, this new technology might as well be the exact same thing.

This breakthrough was developed by a New York Virtual Marketing Firm, and is taking the Web by storm!

Already some pretty famous names are taking note of this new "money making invention" that "forces" money out of the Internet directly into your bank account!

A spokesperson for the NYC firm boasted proudly:

"Imagine the Worldwide-Web as an ocean of money ... our new technology merely makes a way for YOU to be able to dig a big trench from that 'cash-sea' directly into your backyard!"

And that's obviously a pretty amazing feat to say the very least!

People get a webpage that's NOT ordinary by any means!

The webpage "captures" a huge segment of the daily visitors it receives and winds up upselling them repeatedly with a predictable conversion each and every time!

Plus, the webpage has a "built-in" device that allows it to generate "free traffic" without end!

So considering the fact that you get free traffic, along with a predictable and steady stream of sales conversions, you get a guaranteed source of endless income!

Additionally, the webpage you get already contains a PROVEN digital product that no online marketer can live without, and one that is delivered where all your orders are filled automatically by another firm on behalf of you, the webpage owner! (And at no costs!)

Not only that, but the webpage contains a video that makes further an irresistible offer so that people must surrender their contact information, and which also becomes a VAST double-optin list!

This list is maintained by yet another separate online firm on your behalf, and that has the HIGHEST track record for getting over 98% deliverability for follow-up emailings (the same that convert another 378% more sales for you!)

So in a nutshell you get:

An amazing website! A website that converts sales automatically! A website that puts "forced" money directly into your pocket! A website that's run by another firm for you (at NO charge!) A website that continues to promote for you over & over! A website that grows & cultivates a proven list! A website that functions automatically (so you never run it!) And a website that you get Free H0STING for!

So as you can easily see you get the whole "Sha-Bang!"

Without wasting another moment of your time, why not go to the new site that shows you how you can get this site for yourself (if you'd like) for next to nothing? ...

However, I must warn you that they are only giving away a very limited number of these "forced money" websites that forcibly pour money into your pocket! - So please [for your sake] HURRY!

What Google Thinks Of Your Site? by Titus Hoskins

How Google views your site does matter if you want to succeed online because Google has become the dominant search engine on the web. It now has over 60% of the U.S. search engine market. In other countries around the world that percentage rises to 80% or more. In addition, the Google Brand Name has solidly permeated the popular psyche and any top rankings within Google will bring much weight and prestige along with all that traffic.

If you're a webmaster, you will already know how vital Google is to the success of your site, especially if you rely upon organic keyword rankings for your traffic. This free organic traffic from Google is highly desired by webmasters because it is extremely targeted and delivers high conversion rates.

In trying to reach the highest rankings possible, I (like most webmasters) have to be constantly aware of what Google thinks of my site and content. As a webmaster and marketer I have always geared my online marketing towards Google. I have spent years building my keyword rankings within Google; if you take out the fact that it has nearly driven me insane, it has mostly been a positive experience.

This experience has also shown me it is indeed important for anyone to know how Google views and rates your site or content. The more knowledge you have, the better able you will be to tackle any obstacles and challenges that will come your way.

SERPs Is The Only Opinion That Counts

And like most webmasters, I try to find out as much about Google as is humanly possible, but Google doesn't give up its secrets easily. In fact, many webmasters would argue the only true opinion Google has of your site is shown in their SERPs - if your keywords/pages are ranked in the number one spots in Google's "Search Engine Results Pages" then Google must think your site or content deserves to be there.

However, there are other ways of finding out how Google is viewing your content. Below are several Google webmaster tools and things you can do to discover just how Google views your site or pages. They will give you a better picture of what Google thinks about your site.

Checking Your Content/Keywords In Google

One handy tool that will show you what Google thinks your pages consist of is located here:

Just type in your URL and tick off website content and you will get a listing of the major keywords Google has for your content. If your targeted keyword or keywords are not listed, then you have to do some re-writing.

How To Attract More Visitors to Your Website by Peter Webber

1. Avoid Flash and frames

Flash content is completely unreadable to search engines, and frames (i.e. pages which are compiled of smaller areas - or 'frames' - to make up one web page) are not normally picked up by them either. It's OK to have smaller, embedded Flash elements within an HTML website, but an entirely Flash site will need a separate HTML version. Individual frame pages that do get picked up by search engines tend to be isolated from the rest of the site, which places them out of context.

2. Don't display wording as graphics only

Page content or wording displayed as graphics cannot be seen by search engines, so it will not be matched against the phrases people are searching for. Nowadays, style sheets allow a good range of text formatting so you don't have to completely sacrifice on style if you choose to use text. If graphics are essential, you should also use ALT tags to provide appropriate descriptive text in addition to the images.

3. Divide and conquer!

Pages dedicated to separate distinct topics or items get a stronger match on search engines than pages that try to cover everything. Try to divide sites up into separate pages (e.g. a different page for each subject, category, product, news item, etc).

4. Put keywords in link text

The text in a hyperlink helps tell search engines what the target page is about. When you link to a page try to use HTML text (as per 2 above) and put some relevant keywords in the link text. This is especially important for your navigation menus.

5. Place popular search terms in the page text

Try to make sure that visible text on each page contains the words and phrases that potential visitors are actually searching for. Do not duplicate phrases unnecessarily, and try to keep it all relevant to the specific subject of that page.

6. Good title tags

The TITLE tag is usually what the search engine will display as the link text in the search results - you have around 6 words to clearly state what the page is about.

7. Keywords and Description meta-tags

These meta-tags help provide further supporting content for search engines. The Keywords tag should be a comma-separated list of all the common words and phrases that visitors search for, which can include alternative spellings, misspellings and synonyms. The

Description tag should be a brief sentence or two. If you find yourself having to use hundreds of keywords or long descriptions, then the page probably needs to be divided up as described in point 3.

8. Links in good, links out bad

Links to external sites usually hurt your site rankings, whereas incoming links to your site can help. Try to limit outgoing links and only do link exchanges with sites that rank well. We can advise you on how to assess link exchange partners more accurately.

9. Have a main domain

If the site is accessible via more than one domain name, these may compete with each other for rankings instead of supporting each other. Pick a single main domain to promote and have all others forwarded to it using a '301 Redirect'.

10. No splash pages

Swish animated company logos may do wonders for the boss' ego, but they create an additional link for search engines have to crawl past to reach the relevant content. This can reduce the ranking of the rest of the site pages by as much as 20%, which could mean the difference between being on the first page of results or not.

We hope you found these tips informative and useful.
