How To Succeed At Article Marketing by Steve Hill

I have introduced many people to the concept of article marketing and have been intrigued to watch how they develop within this area of website promotion. Strangely enough the majority of them end up failing and in this particular article I will explain why. I have been writing articles for the last three years and I have thus far had eight hundred and seventeen articles published on what I consider to be the best article marketing directory, ezinearticles. Looking back I could not believe just how beneficial this type of web promotion could be, the results in the first year were quite spectacular. The traffic to my websites started to surge and the phone seemingly did not stop ringing. Other people had similar positive experiences but then some of them let the cat out of the bag by telling the rest of the world! Article marketing then became swamped with a load of spam and trash. Many so called experts stated that article marketing had had its day and many believed them. This actually helped as it meant that not so many people were writing articles. The article marketing directories had to sharpen up their act and the cream of sites such as ezinearticles and articledashboard rose to the top of the tree. In my opinion those heady days of a few years ago have gone forever. I have to write eight articles to gain the same affect that just one article would have had a couple of years ago. This is the main reason why the people I have introduced to this form of website promotion ultimately have not succeeded, they lack the patience. Yes it is not as beneficial as it once was but it is still a free way of attracting those all important backward links.
