The success to making a good website is to be able to know what you want people to accomplish when they visit your website. You can tell me that this is not true but if you think about it what good is it to you if you have a lot of traffic going to your website but the information that you have is not the information that the user is looking for. With this I truly want to tell you that when it comes to making a website you need to sit down and write all the objectives and based upon that start to build your website.
Once you have the objectives in place that will be the easiest way to go and there will be no confusion down the road for you, since you won't have to be changing a lot of things in your website. Always remember to go with the objectives since this is going to help you once it comes to advertising your website to the whole world and this way you will have people going to your website and browse through it because that's what they are looking for.
Don't try to create websites for search engines or for robots because when people go to your website they will get out as soon as they go in and trust me they won't go back again. This is one of the biggest mistakes most people do to try to get listed on search engines. My best advice is once you have your website built for people and have all the information or products that you want to share then start advertising your website by link exchanges, submitting links to directories and writing articles. Always be patient because page ranks won't come from one day to another neither the people but always keep adding good content for the users and advertising at least once a week.
